Recently, Ford was granted two patents: one for a variant of the classic Mustang logo and another for a name called “Mustang Mach-E.” The former is easy to overlook, but the same can’t be said about the latter.
Here’s what we think we know about this mysterious vehicle.
- A Hybrid Mustang
Right off the bat, our best guess is that the Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s upcoming hybrid version of the vehicle. The company has been teasing the car for quite some time now, and it would make sense from a branding perspective. We have yet to hear Ford confirm this, of course. But for now, this seems like a reputable guess.
- A Possible SUV?
There is some speculation going around that the hybrid Mustang Mach-E won’t offer a typical Mustang form factor but rather an SUV build. It isn’t clear if the company has ultimately chosen this form factor or if this is misinformation circulating the web, but it will remain a possibility until Ford officially reveals the mysterious vehicle.
- A Range of 370 Miles
One thing that Ford has made official is that whatever its hybrid Mustang turns out to be, it’ll offer 370 miles of range. That’s quite the amount of range. It’ll also offer “V-8-like performance,” according to the company. Overall, you can likely expect a very powerful and long-lasting vehicle when the Mach-E goes official.
