Ford finally brought the Ford Focus RS, well-loved in Europe, to America. So, letβs take a look at the Focus RS and its incredible performance.
Β
Β
EcoBoost Turbo Engine
The Focus brings an electrifying performance at a sensible budget, and the RS series features aΒ Ford EcoBoost turbo engine with a six-speed manual transmissionΒ and a four-wheel-drive system, giving you greater feel and control of the vehicle. The turbocharged 2.3 L engine produces 350 horsepower and gives you 350 lb-ft torque, allowing quick acceleration and letting the driver go from 0 to 60 in only 4.6 seconds. The high-performance engine demands a greater level of cooling, and the Focus RS engineers added space under the hood for a much larger radiator.
Β
All-Wheel-Drive
The 2017 Ford Focus RS comes with an advanced Ford Performance All-Wheel-Drive System with Dynamic Torque Vectoring control that distributes power when you need. When turning, the rear-drive unit proactively diverts torque to the outer rear wheel immediately based on inputs such as steering wheel angle, lateral acceleration, and speed. This gives you a sharper turn and improved stability.
Β
Other Features
RS stands for rally sports car, and with anΒ enhanced aerodynamic front grill and a rear diffuserΒ and spoiler, the Focus maximizes downforce to create zero lift for the best high-speed handling, even if you are not racing. Plus, you can adjust its all-wheel drive and suspension to meet your exact needs and wants. Wider tires also offer more power.
So, check out the car Europeans love, now available in the United States.
