4 Tips for Test Driving a Car

Nothing beats the excitement of buying a new car. And while it’s quite easy to get caught up in the look, feel, and rev of that engine, it’s important to make sure that you explore all areas of your future car. Below are some tips on how to effectively test drive a car.

Check All Blind Spots

Adjust the seat, rearview mirror, and side mirrors until you see the greatest visibility. Before you get on the road, it’s a good idea to look over your right shoulder to make sure that there are no blind spots from the car frame.

Test In All Conditions

Drive on winding roads, hills, and rough terrain. The only way to truly tell if a car will fit your needs is to drive it like you already own it. It’s also a good idea to test drive at night to see headlight visibility.

Touch and Explore Everything

From the feel of the seat cushions to those hidden storage compartments, it’s important to look, touch, and imaging yourself living in the car. Do the radio buttons push with the right amount of pressure? Will the storage space fit all of your hauling needs?

Interior Comfort

Get in and out of the car several times. Does your head or knee bump anything? Is the driver’s seat comfortable for those longer road trips? Can you reach the pedal comfortably?

The next time you go to test drive a car make sure you have your check list ready.
