2 Things to Pack in Your Car’s Winter Emergency Kit

If you don’t already have an emergency kit in your car, it’s more important than ever that you have a winter emergency kit available. With freezing weather and more dangerous road conditions, you’ll be safer if you have a few items available in the event that something unexpected happens. Here are some of the things drivers should keep in their cars at all times during the winter.

Ice Scraper

Whether you put an ice scraper in your car’s winter emergency kit or just keep one in the trunk, an ice scraper is an important tool in the winter. It gives you a way to clear off your windshield after it’s been covered in ice. This way you don’t lose any visibility.

Blankets

In the event that you’re stuck on the side of the road waiting for roadside assistance because of a flat tire or dead battery, you won’t necessarily have access to your car’s heater. You’ll need a blanket to stay warm in cold conditions as you wait for assistance.

Keep these two items in your car’s winter emergency kit to stay safer during the winter as you drive around town. This is in addition to the safety items you already keep in your car, such as a first aid kit, spare tire, and roadside flares. You never know when you’ll end up needing your emergency kit, so it makes sense to rotate out at least some of the items you keep in your car to match the seasons.
