The Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV with room for up to eight passengers, and if you need even more space, you can get the Ford Expedition MAX with its extended wheelbase. This longer version of the Expedition comes in the XLT and Limited trims, and it offers a larger cargo area. Here are some more details.
Â
The Power
The Expedition Max comes with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that delivers 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Ford pairs this with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. This transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and helps this large SUV make the most of the power available from the V-6.

The Cabin
Inside, the Expedition’s cabin is extremely spacious, and it comes well-equipped with technology. There are rear controls for the climate, Bluetooth comes standard, and there are several USB ports. The third row features power-folding seat backs, and the second-row seats both slide and recline. With all the seats folded down, the MAX opens up to offer over 130 cubic feet of cargo space.

Safety Features
Both trims come standard with a rearview camera with grid lines along with a washer to keep the camera clean, and the Limited adds front parking sensors. Optional safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, and a lane departure warning system.
The 2018 Expedition MAX has the extra space and cargo room you need to haul everyone and their gear.
