Changes Are Coming to the 2020 Ford Explorer

Changes Are Coming to the 2020 Ford Explorer

The Ford Explorer, one of the first SUVs in the market, is finally getting an upgrade. Come 2020, this best-selling SUV will take a step into modern times.

Exterior Design

At first glance, the updates to the 2020 Ford Explorer might not seem that different. It is still recognizable as an Explorer but if you get closer, you will notice the subtle differences. The exterior body is lighter in weight, slimmer, and the roofline slopes more aggressively. Ford attributes their inspiration of the 2020 Explorer to a yacht. Drivers will be able to choose from an available six models, including a Limited Hybrid model.

Improved Capability

Ford designers took a close look at the current Explorer design and identified the areas that needed improvement. The first change was increasing its towing capability by an additional 600-pounds. The entire design is moved to a rear-wheel drive system with optional all-wheel drive upgrades. There will also be a four-wheel drive model that comes with seven different drive modes.

Interior Features

Drivers will enjoy the large, 10.1-inch touch screen driver infotainment system with drive assist technologies and the Co-Pilot 360 program. The Explorer will also have a more spacious interior, comfortably seating up to seven with adjustable second and third-row seats. There will still be plenty of cargo space storage with a flat-floor cargo area.

We can expect to see the 2020 Ford Explorer by late summer. In the meantime, come by Moose Jaw Ford today to see our full 2019 Ford inventory.
