The Moose Jaw area is full of natural beauty. If you’re looking for a place to spot wildlife nearby, there are plenty of beautiful sites you can visit. Here are a few places to start:
- Moose Jaw River Walk
The Moose Jaw River Walk is a 4.7-kilometer loop trail in southern Moose Jaw that’s great for seeing the wildlife we share a home with. If you’re looking for a quick birdwatching trip, stop by this trail to see many interesting bird species.

- Wascana Trail Loop
Over in the Wascana Valley Nature Recreation Site, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for wildlife sightings. Walk the 4.8-kilometer Wascana Trail Loop to take a tour of Saskatchewan’s beauty. In the park, you’ll find a dedicated birdwatching area. The park is less than an hour’s drive from Moose Jaw and it’s worth the trip.

Pelican Lake is a great place to view — you guessed it — pelicans. You’ll also find plenty of other colorful bird species to watch at this beautiful Saskatchewan lake: tundra swan, A variety of warbler species, yellow-breasted chat, great horned owls, and many more.
