2021 Ford Super Duty F-350 Review
Posted on March 9, 2021
Sometimes you need a truck with the full power to manage heavy-duty tasks, but don't need the excess size and cost of a fully commercial grade. The Ford F-350 Super Duty pushes the one-ton pickup format to its upper limits, providing ample capability for all everyday tasks within a compact package. Here's what you can expect from the 2021 F-350, now available for review at our Moose Jaw dealership.
First Impressions
From the first look, it's immediately obvious that the F-350 is built for Super duty work. Unlike many smaller pickups which emphasize modern curves suited to highway driving, the Ford is built around a dominating front grille, high wheel arches, and double rear wheels. No matter how tough the terrain you work over, the F-350 will be up to the task.
Under the Hood Power
The new F-350 powertrain options offer an unrivalled amount of power. Even at the entry-level, the 6.2L gasoline V8 produces 385 horsepower and 430lb-ft of torque, passed through a ten-speed automatic transmission to either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Moving up the power levels brings a 7.3L V8 making a hefty 430 horsepower and 475lb-ft, while the high-end turbodiesel mill offers incredible figures of 475hp and 1,050lb-ft. All this power translates into some truly impressive capability, with a maximum payload rating of 3,561kg and a groundbreaking towing capacity of up to 16,216kg.
Advanced Infotainment
And while the F-350 Super Duty may be a highly capable workhorse, it's also a comfortable truck to spend your working days in. Infotainment is controlled by either a 4.5" or an 8" touchscreen, with full smartphone connectivity provided by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation is an available option, while higher-end models also include a wireless charging facility and a 100V power outlet.
Strong Safety Features
A truck with this much power needs a strong set of safety features, and the F-350 delivers in spades. The precise configuration is different from trim to trim, but standard and available options include:
- Front collision warnings with automatic emergency braking.
- Blind-spot monitoring with included trailer sensing and coverage.
- Trailer sway control for safer highway driving.
- Adaptive cruise control.
- 360-degree camera coverage.
