2021 Ford Expedition Review

2021 Ford Expedition Review

The Ford Expedition was one of the first three-row SUVs to be sold in Canada, and it set the successful template for all other brands to follow. We now have the latest version available at our Moose Jaw dealership, but will it maintain its place at the head of the pack? Read our 2021 Ford Expedition review to find out.

What's New?

The biggest improvement for the 2021 Expedition is the wider availability of the Ford Co-Pilot 360 driver-assist suite, now either standard or an option across the whole range. Also, extra USB ports have been added in the second row, and there are several new paint finish options available.

Confident Design

The Expedition is a large, three-row SUV that's built for busy families, and its spacious cabin provides comfortable seating for up to eight people with plenty of extra space for cargo. There are two versions of the Expedition available in 2021, the standard model and the Expedition Max which has an extended wheelbase for even more space. But whichever you choose, both formats have a reassuringly chunky and powerful design that inspires confidence.

Searing Performance

The engineering of the Expedition borrows heavily from Ford's best-selling F-150 pickup, and it shows in the power you'll find under the hood. A 3.5L twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine pumps out an amazing 375 horsepower alongside 470lb-ft of torque, making the Expedition capable of much more than carrying people.

When passed through the ten-speed automatic transmission to either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, the huge output means the Expedition SUV has searing performance on the highway, and can also haul up to 4,218kg in trailer weight for when the interior cargo capacity isn't quite enough.

Advanced Infotainment

As standard, the Expedition boasts an 8" infotainment touchscreen, featuring Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot facility. An optional upgrade brings advanced navigation with real-time traffic and weather information, and a rear-seat entertainment system can also be installed on the higher trims.

Co-Pilot 360 Safety

As well as earning a five-star rating in NHTSA crash tests, the 2021 Expedition also features the Ford Co-Pilot 360 system providing automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warnings and keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
